Create reusable workflows using SharePoint Designer 2010 and attach to Content Types
-
Being able to create reusable workflows is a major component of SharePoint Designer 2010. In this presentation, you will see how you can create a reusable workflow and attach it to a content type and then use that content type in a library.

Hello,
I am very interested in using Sharepoint designer 2010 but I am wondering if this can be used to create Workflows in Project 2010 (create approval WF for proposals so they become projects …).
Feel free to contact me on my e-mail adress : c.moulin@teamsquare.fr

I haven’t tried that scenario yet, but I can’t imagine why you would not be able to create workflows to facilitate your project proposals.

Hi,
Thank you for the nice how-to video.
I have tried this by attaching the reusable workflow with a custom content type created based on Document Set Content Type. While associating workflow I have checked start this workflow on Item creation or updation checkboxes.
Created a Doclibrary and Created a docset with Custom Docset created. The workflow is triggered when I create or modify any of the Document Set properties, but it is not getting fired when I upload documents to that Document Set.
What I expect is Workflow should get triggerred when I upload the documents to Documentset. Am I missing something here?
Thanks in Advance for any help.

I agree with you Tanvi. The workflow should fire with the way you have it configured. Sounds like a bug to me. You should log it with Microsoft.
