the video left me with two big questions. how does the new page fit into my site? Is it just another page and I must have a link to it from the home page? My SharePoint useage has been limited to using the home page and then the pages of any lists or libraries that I create. Not sure how the new page fits in.
Also, I can change the # of columns using text layout. How does this work when a page is created using tables?

    Otherwise a very helpful video.

I just had to watch it again. I answered my own question about the relationship of the table and the text layout feature. The table simply is associated with one zone and moves over when you change from one column to two using the text layout feature.
