Users doesn’t just mean viewers of the information. Administrators, Designers of a site as well as members and readers of sites all contribute towards the success or failure of SharePoint adoption in the company.

So why do you think that happens? One guess would be that users are not trained to use the software. That may or may not be true. Users might have gone through a training class or two. Now Standard classroom training is great! I have been delivering it for years. You get the face to face interaction with the instructor that’s irreplaceable.

However, SharePoint provides a very different and unique way of collaborating and consuming information. How can we expect our users to remember everything after the class. For example, they might not have any problem when uploading documents to a library, but when it comes time to manage the metadata of that document or use the proper ways of checking in / checking out the document, they might need a refresher on how to do that.

To mitigate this situation, many organizations have tried to provide their users with tons of articles and documentation on how to work with various parts of SharePoint. Documentation is good for reference, however… let’s be honest… it’s hard to visualize the steps from a written article. A step up would be Pictures. They are better at conveying the message, but Videos are that much better.

That’s where the Enterprise DVD comes into the picture. You can deploy the videos from our DVDs as an individual SharePoint site where SharePoint users can go to watch and learn the functionality that they are presently working with. Our videos are about 8-12 minutes each, very focused on one particular task so it’s like having a trainer right beside you showing you how something is done. Within about 10 minutes of watching one of our videos, a user will understand how to work with the functionality. I would highly advise clicking on the Free Videos tab on our site to watch a few of the videos to sample our product.
